The Science

Why Overlight Works Better

Most blue-light glasses only block blue light. Overlight goes further by also filtering green light (450–550nm), the second most disruptive wavelength for sleep. The result? A natural sunset-like transition that supports melatonin production and deeper, more restorative rest.

You got questions ? We got answers.

What is the difference between red and orange glasses?

Our orange and red glasses are designed for different moments of the day:

  • Orange lenses are perfect during the day and early evening. They filter the most harmful blue light from screens, helping reduce eye strain and fatigue while keeping colors quite natural.
  • Red lenses offer stronger protection in the late evening and before bed. They block a wider range of blue and green light, helping your eyes recover more deeply and supporting better sleep.

The two are highly complementary depending on your routine. Many customers use orange during the day and switch to red in the evening for maximum benefit — which is why the Day & Night Bundle is so popular.

Are these glasses the same as regular blue light blocking glasses?

No, they are significantly more advanced.

Most standard blue light glasses only block 20% of harmful blue light and are designed for general daytime use. Our glasses can block up to 98% of the most damaging wavelengths.

We use two specialized lens technologies: the orange lenses provide strong daytime protection while preserving natural color perception, and the red lenses offer much higher filtration in the evening to support deeper eye recovery and better sleep.

They are optimized for different times of the day rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

When should I wear the orange lenses vs the red lenses?

  • Wear the orange lenses in the late afternoon, when your screen time and exposure to artificial light increase.
  • Switch to the red lenses in the evening, especially after sunset. They provide stronger protection to help your eyes recover more deeply and support better sleep.

The two lenses are designed to complement each other as your light exposure changes throughout the day.

Do they really reduce eye strain and headaches?

Yes.
Multiple studies have shown that blocking specific wavelengths of blue and green light can significantly reduce digital eye strain, dryness, and headaches. Our lenses are designed to filter a much broader and more targeted range than standard blue light glasses. Many of our users report noticeable relief within the first few days of consistent use, especially in the evening.

Do they fit all face shapes?

Yes.
We specifically chose a unisex frame that offers excellent comfort and fit for a wide variety of face shapes and sizes. Whether you have a round, oval, square, or narrow face — and regardless of gender — the design was carefully selected to sit comfortably on most people who want to improve their eye health and visual comfort.

Can I wear them over my corrective lenses?

Yes, absolutely.
Our glasses are designed to be comfortably worn over most prescription glasses. However, we do not currently offer prescription lenses in our Maximal Rest technology. This option is something we are actively working on for the future.
